Integrating Proficiency Skills and Modes in Language Curricula

Course Description

Students will learn how to design a curriculum based on the ACTFL (American Council of the Teaching of Foreign Languages) Proficiency Guidelines that will help language learners make steady progress in terms of overall language proficiency. Students will learn how to use backward design to integrate various skills (Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening) and modes (Interpersonal, Presentational, Interpretive) in helping language learners progress to Intermediate, Advanced, or Superior levels of proficiency.
